How soon can I have the procedure?
We suggest a thinking over period of a minimum of 24hrs between consultation and treatment - to allow you to be committed and prepared.
How natural will the outcome look?
After the treatment, our customers can barely recognize where their hairline ends and where the pigment begins. Even when copping a feel, people still can’t tell it isn’t real hair!
Are there any hygiene standards in your clinics?
Our clinics follow the standards for infection control practices. Sterile medical gloves are used and single-use needles are disposed of immediately after use into sharps containers.
How long will my treatment sessions take?
The human head has 300 follicles per square centimeter. Thus, it usually takes a minimum of three sessions to achieve the final desired look on a mainly bald head. We apply a lighter pigment during treatment number 1. Session 2 sees us adjust to obtain a perfect match (sometimes using even 3-4 pigment shades to get the perfect result) whilst adding density and the crucial blend into natural hairline. In subsequent sessions we focus on completing the appearance and adding detail.
Does the final effect fade?
A. The pigment will fade slightly over the first 4 weeks to achieve your desired shade.
How will I look after a treatment?
You can expect an instant visible hairline result after the Session 1. You will also notice some redness, which usually lasts from at least of few hours to a couple of days. The pigment dots will appear darker than planned for up to four weeks before the pigments soften to their natural and finished size. All of our treatments include at least 3 sessions. The result is improved after each session, as each new layer is added to build density, coverage and color to get the perfect result.
How long will my micropigmentation last?
To maintain your look, we recommend that maintenance touch-ups be planned for once every three to six years. The effect could last a lifetime if cared for correctly however use caution with the sun as sunburn can cause damage to your micropigmentation results.
How will my hairline be designed?
We will work with you using a wax pencil to sculpt and craft a hairline that you love. Some clients will want a firmly defined hairline and others prefer soft, jagged, or perhaps even a mature, slightly receding effect. Generally we advise a soft line at the first treatment with adjustments made to reach perfection during the following treatments.
How Painful is the Procedure?
The procedure could not be defined as painful. Using a pain– pain is usually in the 1-3 mark RatingPain Level
- 0 No Pain
- 1-3 Mild Pain (nagging, annoying, interfering little with ADLs)
- 4-6 Moderate Pain (interferes significantly with ADLs)
- 7-10 Severe Pain (disabling; unable to perform ADLs)
Can I take any painkiller?
We recommend you try paracetamol and/or ibuprofen an hour before treatment.
Will the pain continue after the treatment procedure is finished?
No, the discomfort is only during the procedure.
How long do I need between treatments?
The normal scheduling:
- First Session: Lasting between 2-4hours depending on the complexity of your Micro Pigmentation needs.
- Second Session: Roughly 1 week after the first, lasting 2-4 hours where the color is gently perfected and the hairline refined.
- Third Session: Three to five weeks after the second, lasting 1-3 hours to perfect the shade and hairline for your perfect result.
How often should I shave my head?
Most of our shave every 2-3 days. Letting your hair grow will give away the secret.
How flexible can you be about appointment scheduling?
Many of our clients fly in for treatments so we ensure we are flexible, open late and at weekends, and with a highly effective advance booking system.
Is there any age limit?
No. We have treated clients in their 60s and 70s. At the other end of the scale, we are able to treat alopecia sufferers from age 12 – assuming we have full parental consent.
Does my head require any special treatment after the procedure?
We will make sure that we give you verbal and written instructions. For 3 days, the head cannot get wet, intensive sweating (sauna, gym, jogging) is inadvisable, and so is touching the skin. It is also recommended to apply a special cream twice a day to speed up the recovery of the skin.
Could the effect of micropigmentation be removed?
To be honest, no one has ever asked us to do so. Anyway, Micropigmentation is easy to painlessly remove or correct with laser – without any visible scars or traces of the treatment. Thus, MicroHaar Micropigmentation is fully reversible.
Will I get a guarantee?
Of course! Within a year after the treatment, every customer can get an unlimited number of corrections. We will continue the process until your full satisfaction.
